Rumble in the Rubble 2026 - A Bolt Action Narrative Event

Rumble in the Rubble is our annual event celebrating the brutal close-quarters battles of World War II. This year we’re leaning even further into the narrative side of the hobby, with themed scenarios that highlight some of the unique and memorable rules that have appeared throughout Bolt Action’s history.

These special rules are designed to be fun, cinematic, and thematic. However, they can sometimes favor a bit of luck over pure tactical precision. While the event will still include a competitive element, competition is not the primary focus—our goal is to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

We’re also excited to announce that this year marks the first introduction of a Beginner’s Bracket. New players are highly encouraged to join in and experience the fun, even if you’re not completely familiar with every rule yet. This bracket is intended to provide a welcoming environment to learn the game, roll some dice, and enjoy the hobby with other players.

Whether you're a veteran commander or brand new to the battlefield, we hope you'll join us for a weekend of close-quarters chaos, cinematic moments, and plenty of dice rolling.

Tournament Rules

1. Force Creation

Players will field a 1,100 Requisition Point force consisting of no more than 16 Order Dice.

Each player may select one nation from the relevant “Armies of…” books or the Minor Nations PDFs. Vehicles from the Common Transport Vehicles section may also be used. Units from the core rulebook are not allowed if that army has an Armies of book.

Players may include up to one platoon of each type, with Rifle Platoons being the only exception, multiple Rifle Platoons may be taken if desired.

Please note that all armies must be painted with a minimum of three colors. While we are not expecting expert-level paint jobs, we do want to encourage you to paint those grey plastic armies. If you need help meeting this requirement, please reach out—we want to support everyone in participating and do not wish to exclude anyone.

.

2. Game Times

The event will consist of two games, each lasting 2 hours.

Players will be given a 10-minute warning prior to the end of each round. After this warning, players may continue playing out the remaining order dice currently in the bag, but a new turn/new bag should not be started.

When final time is called, players must finish resolving the current Order Die, any remaining Order Dice in the bag will not be played.

.

3. Army List

Players must have a copy of their army list reasonably available to share with their opponent. A printed copy is preferred; however, digital copies will also be accepted.

All army lists are due by Friday, July 17th. Please ensure your lists are submitted on time, as this plays a significant role in preparing the necessary resources for the event. All lists must be reviewed and approved prior to the event.

Army lists should be submitted by emailing Stevenaldez337@yahoo.com. The Warlord Games Army Builder App is the preferred format for list submissions.

.

4. TOURNAMENT POINTS (TP)

Victory is calculated as described in the Scenarios being played and Tournament points are awarded for victories, defeats, and draws as shown below:
