Introduction
Up to six battlefields will be brought to ruin as the Axis and Allied armies commit their forces to victory. Sunday November 8th will be the debut of Bolt Action at the Akron Brew Brawl. Using Chicago Dice’s Adepticon Combat Patrol as format foundation, anyone is welcome to participate and new players are encouraged to sign up! This will be a Thematic Matched Play Event using the requirements below.

Army Building Requirements
A Combat Patrol Force is:
3 Platoons max
500pts max
9 Order Dice max
For Germany, the United States, Great Britain, the Soviet Union, and Imperial Japan, Italy, & Commonwealth forces must be built using their Third Edition Armies of book.
For the 11 “Minor Powers”, forces must be built using the Further Axis & Allied Nations PDFs.
Units, Platoons, rules, etc. from the Compendium are not allowed.
The Jan. 30, 2026 FAQ & Errata will be used for the tournament.
Combat Patrol Platoon Special Rules
The Leadership Standard – The Morale level of the Platoon Commander(s) must be equal to or greater than the Morale level of the majority of the units in the platoon, not counting the Platoon Commander (rounding up).
Artillery Platoons are not allowed.
Forward Artillery and Air Observers are not allowed.
Company Commanders are not allowed.
Maximum of one Infantry Flamethrower.
No vehicle-mounted flamethrowers.
No weapons with HE 3” or HE 4”.
Three vehicles max.
Armor 8+ max.
Assemble your Forces
Players are highly encouraged to be inspired by real fighting forces from 1939-1945. Craft your combat patrols from real life photos, Orders of Battles, etc. Photos of any proxies must be submitted alongside the army lists for approval of the Tournament Organizers.

Terrain and Tables
We will be asking players to register their own boards for up to 6 total tables for this event.
Players must agree with their opponent which terrain features on the tabletop constitute which type of terrain before the game begins (see the Bolt Action 3E rulebook, p.76).
We encourage players to create villages, towns, and farms! Not just arenas.

Scenarios
Each game uses the Battle Scenario system, as described in the Bolt Action rulebook (see pages 164-174). Before each game, the Victory Conditions, Deployment Zones, and Deployment Types will be determined by the Tournament Organizers, who will announce which of these will be used by all players on all tables.
Scoring Axis VS Allies
Total victory points scored per match will be totaled per Allied and Axis armies. At the end of the third game the final victory point total will determine which Power is victorious.

Votes to be cast at the end of the event.
“Most Thematic Table”
Best representation of a real world battlefield/location during the war.
“Most Thematic Force”
A combination of units that best represent an army in a specific battle/front. I.e.
“Best Painted Force”
Best painted force, authenticity is appreciated.
“Player’s Choice” -
Most sporting player? Most fun army to play against?
