Adepticon 2026 – What Next for Konflikt ’47?

    New Stuff

Our intrepid crew are heading back from the wargaming extravaganza known as Adepticon, and as they cross the pond, we thought we’d share some of what they got up to over the weekend Of course, first and foremost we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, see our stand, and get their hands on the newest Konflikt ’47 book and miniatures!

With the launch of Festung Europa falling on Adepticon weekend, naturally the focus was squarely on Konflikt ’47, and as such we saw a lot of heroes, horrors, monsters, and mechs stomping about the place. With so many great models on display from the community (particularly our Raiders, who came together to make a fantastic display board, complete with their very own Sturmriese!), it was the perfect place for Head of Product and Konflikt ’47 project supremo Pete Gosling to give a little presentation about the future of the game and universe.

After a recap of the progress Konflikt ’47 has made so far (spoiler alert – it’s been great!), Pete looked forward to what the future holds. Some of it we’ve already shown off, such as the roadmap, but with Festung Europa released and Invasion Amerika now beginning to loom on the horizon, we got a chance to see some extremely cool… somethings! We’re keeping our cards pretty close to our chests as to exactly what they might be, but given that Invasion Amerika features the United States and Imperial Japan…

There was also another silhouette on display – but what this one is, well – only time will tell!

We also got to take an exceedingly rare glance at the desk of Jon Heeney, one of the Design Studio Sculptors. Familiar to those who’ve been on our HQ tours, Jon’s workspace is a treasure trove of concept work, prototypes, pre-production samples, and more. This is just a fraction of the goodies scattered about his station, but we reckon every Konflikt ’47 fan will find something of interest in this snapshot!

We were also treated to a look behind the curtain at the process of how legendary artist Stefan Kopinski created the iconic artwork that launched the new edition of Konflikt ’47. Swipe through to see how it went from a barebones sketch through numerous revisions and additions to the finished piece:

Finally, we also got to look at the development of the sinister image of Der Erntemann, again as seen through Stef’s art:

Not bad for a weekend away! We’re incredibly excited for the future of Konflikt ’47, and can’t wait to reveal more of the mysteries of the Rifts to you all – in due time, of course.

Wanted Dead, Not Alive – Der Erntemann!

    DER ERNTEMANN

So, you’ve pre-ordered a shiny new Totenrotte Platoon, and you’re eager to get your dead men walking. But – who should lead them? A standard Platoon Commander would be too squeamish for the task, and lacks the required expertise to properly command the dead in any case. The new Totenrotte Platoon Commanders are of course hand-picked for this work, pairing Advanced Body Armour with the usual gamut of Hero options. They’ll do nicely, but sometimes you want to bring in the expert. Sounds like a job for…

    DER ERNTEMANN

(or Oberstarzt Albrecht von Zögling, to give him his proper name*) is kind of a big deal when it comes to the Totenkorps. His nickname, translating to ‘the Harvestman’ is an apt one – he’s the leading light of the entire program, responsible for the ongoing development of the Totenkorps and their supporting equipment. While he’s often holed up in his Dresden laboratory conducting unspeakable experiments, like any true scientist he also sees the value in a little fieldwork. Whenever he gets the opportunity to observe his creations in action, von Zögling will take to the field to direct them, gathering valuable data and fresh specimens.

This isn’t some pasty-faced lab coat we’re dealing with here, though. Der Erntemann revels in the carnage wrought by the Totenkorps, and will often get stuck in himself to get his hands on a particularly valuable enemy corpse. As the battlefield is a dangerous place, von Zögling has taken pains to make himself a dangerous man, skilled with gun and blade. However, he has also elevated himself – literally – with his battle harness. Equal parts weaponised carriage and mobile surgery, the multi-limbed frame allows him to strike out at his foes in all directions, while also carrying enough surgical equipment and stores of his signature serum to re-animate any particularly promising victims nearby.

So, we know a little about the man (and you can find out much more in Festung Europa!), and we’ve seen his fantastic miniature. Let’s look at Der Erntemann on the tabletop!

First off, he’s obviously a Hero – albeit only to a very specific set of people – and as such comes with a couple of points of Rift Mastery and one of Luck, and (count ‘em!) three Rift Dice. He can also fill the mandatory commander slot in a Totenrotte Platoon, as is only appropriate, and comes equipped with a pistol and his battle harness, which grants him Deadly (2), as well as a variation on the Medical Implements special rule that we saw with the Nachtzehrer, although his benefits only the Totenkorps bodyguards (0-6) that may accompany him as a personal retinue. He’s also a Specialist Medic, granting himself and any nearby Totenkorps a chance to shrug off incoming fire.

On top of this, he’s a 6+ Damage Value Fearless Veteran who quite appropriately causes Horror, and has a tasty Active Rift Enhancement which gives him another way to return fallen models to his own squad, and makes it easier for nearby Totenkorps squads to use The Dead Rise – Again!. He is Bulky, though, meaning he’ll have to footslog it alongside the undead – it’s a good job he’s tough as nails and usually surrounded by literal meatshields, as he’ll be a top priority target for the enemy!

Der Erntemann is a fantastic choice if you plan to include any number of Totenkorps in your force, and he really shines in command of a Totenrotte Platoon, meshing perfectly with the Nachtzehrer and the platoon’s special rules to turn your Totenkorps from walking tar-pits into a surprisingly flexible tactical force – just don’t plan on doing too much shooting!

    KONFLIKT '47 - FESTUNG EUROPA

    FESTUNG EUROPA

Stalemate. Since the opening of the Dresden Rift, new and unspeakable horrors
have poured forth from the heart of the newly emergent Neu Republik. The Allied
plan to end hostilities in Europe is in tatters. The world now pays the price of their
    failure.

Technological development, already in overdrive in the fever of war, has escalated
further due to the power of the Rifts. Weapons of unprecedented destructive capacity are being deployed with increasing frequency by all the belligerent nations, leaving Europe in utter ruin and no-one able to gain an upper hand.

It is now beyond any doubt - control of the Rifts is the path to victory. Dresden is the heart of Axis power, the heart of Festung Europa.

Festung Europa is the first in a series of supplements for Konflikt ’47 detailing the
background, history, and characters of the Rift War. This volume is centred on the
European theatre, and the concerted effort of the British-US alliance, and the Soviet Bloc, to wrest control of the Dresden Rift from the Axis.

Within its full-colour pages, rife with glorious photography, artwork, and illustrations, you’ll find timelines, short stories, game scenarios, and more. New miniatures will be released alongside each supplement, representing the heroes, horrors, monsters, and mechs, described in its pages. It's also accompanied by the Operation Touchdown special book figure, available to stores when you purchase the new bundle!

This is a must-have for every Konflikt '47 players, and it's not alone!

Konflikt ’47: The British Commonwealth, Part 1.4 - Faction Overview - Continued

    GB Starter 1.4

Veteran Tesla Cromwells – Tempo and Reactive Pressure

A Veteran Tesla Cromwell with Computational Systems gives the Commonwealth something they otherwise lack: a fast, accurate, mobile threat. It doesn’t dominate the table alone, but in combination with one or two Humbers it creates a reactive armoured group capable of collapsing flanks or punishing isolated units.

Konflikt Commonwealth troops by Warlord Games

A Cromwell-led list typically rewards tight sequencing and mid-game pivots, using its mobility to dictate where engagements happen rather than waiting for the opponent to step forward.

Automated Infantry Blocs – Dice Volume as a Centrepiece

A full Mk I HMG squad backed by Mk II support forms a centrepiece of a different kind: threat saturation through sheer output. Even hitting on 5+ without Mk II buffs, the dice volume forces Order Tests and steadily strips elite units. With the First Off the Line penalty removed, they become brutally consistent shooting units.

    Automation-centric lists lean into:

    Mk II positioning,

    Mid-range control,

Layered supporting fire from infantry or carriers.

Konflikt Commonwealth troops by Warlord Games

They win by making movement unsafe, not by rushing to take ground. Much like the Meteor, the sheer weight of fire they can bring to bear forces opponents into limited lines of movement, which can be blocked or countered by your supporting forces.

Choosing Your Hammer Defines Your Game

Each centrepiece pushes the Commonwealth in a different direction:

Meteor → defensive tempo, indirect attrition.

Walkers → wide pressure and flexible threat allocation.

Cromwell/Humbers → mobility and reactive control.

Automated Blocs → mid-range dominance through volume.

The common thread is that none of these centrepieces win games alone. Instead, they shape the entire list’s rhythm, and understanding that rhythm is key to mastering the Commonwealth.

How the Commonwealth Play on the Table

Commonwealth armies reward players who value control, consistency, and deliberate pressure. They don’t rely on explosive Rift-tech spikes or extreme special rules; instead, they win by building stable positions, sequencing their activations well, and forcing opponents to make inefficient trades. Their infantry are durable and dependable, their armour shoots accurately while manoeuvring, and their automation adds a layer of synergy that amplifies the value of every activation.

The Commonwealth excel in the mid-game, where Superior Codebreaking, careful positioning, and strong centrepiece choices combine to dictate the rhythm of the battle. Whether you’re anchoring a lane with a Meteor, applying wide pressure with a walker, or grinding opponents down with automated firepower, the faction shines when you create problems your opponent can’t answer cleanly.

They’re not the simplest army to play, with high unit costs and proximity-based synergies demanding precision. When you lean into their strengths, though, the Commonwealth offers some of the most rewarding strategic gameplay in Konflikt ’47. With their automated infantry forming a second, deeper layer of tactical identity, there’s far more to explore beneath the surface!

    Who Will Enjoy This Faction?

The Commonwealth suit players who enjoy:

    Thoughtful, methodical gameplay,

Reliable units that perform without relying on luck,

    Combined-arms synergy and calculated pressure,

Lists that reward careful sequencing over raw force.

If you like shaping the pace of the battle rather than chasing ‘swing’ moments, a Commonwealth force will feel immediately intuitive and, crucially, fun.
